I have an issue with Euro Parking Collection PLC (acting for TFL) and want to know which authority regulates EPC. Can anybody advise me please? I have stopped contacting EPC because of the following:

NOTE THIS IS TO DO WITH LONDON LOW EMISSION ZONES NOT PARKING

Thank you for your communication.

Your case has been placed on hold, pending a review of the circumstances of your representation. This may involve forwarding your case to the relevant authority for a decision.

Our aim is to respond to your query within 28 days, however, please note that the process can take much longer if the case needs to be forwarded to the relevant authority or during busy periods. No further communication is required by you as your case is placed on hold and it will not progress any further, without you being notified.

If you do submit a new communication, this will be treated as a new case and the time to handle the case will start from the beginning. g.

You will be informed as soon as a decision has been made. If your communication relates to any other matter, it will be forwarded to the relevant department.

Regards,
Ron Driscoll

As we major on private parking tickets here, PePiPoo will be your best bet for council tickets. Register there (but please note that a hotmail address won't work - try using a throwaway gmail account instead if you do have trouble registering) and post a new thread; here's your link:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=30

Have a read through some of the other threads there before you post your own to get the hang of what information they need from you in your opening post - but as a minimum you will need to post redacted photos/scans of all correspondence you've received from the council (both sides, if appropriate) as they need to see all the small print.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Nobody regulates private parking companies. That's the problem with them.

If those are your case numbers you should redact them.

If TFL are involved, is this because byelaws apply to the land where the alleged event took place?

The industry is unregulated an nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, as it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

I refer you back to my first sentence in Post 3.

The comment by twhitehousecat was to tell you that you are asking a question about an alleged event in a low emission zone that is not to do with parking, on a Parking Forum.

In other words, you are asking in the wrong place.

  • Thanks for the clarification. Would have gotten the message if it had been written in a different way.

What could be clearer than the opening sentence of post number 2?
