Banks unfair treatment

At the end of March 2018 Nat West Bank returned two cheques that I had paid into my ltd company account. The cheques were made payable to the trading name of my company and the bank said that they were not in the name of the account.
When I opened the account I had notified them of the trading name so I phoned the bank and they apologised for their mistake and gave me £75 in compensation for my trouble.
A few days later I got 2 letters from the bank telling me that they were giving me 60 days notice of closing all my personal and business accounts. I contacted them to explain that it was all a mistake of their making so could they not close my accounts. they refused and said that could close my accounts without giving me a reason as it is in their terms and conditions.
My next step was to complain to the Financial :Ombudsman, but after 16 months, 3 different handlers they concluded that because it was in their terms and conditions they had not treated me unfairly.
During this time I had spoken to the bank and on 2 separate occasions I was told that it was the fraud dept. that had instigated the closure of my account, but the bank told the ombudsman that the internal markers on my name were to stop me opening another account in the future.
I now would like to take the bank to small claims court for say £5000 in compensation for treating me unfairly under the BCOBS rules.
I am sure I would not be the first but I cant find anything on the net. Perhaps someone has any advice or knowledge of my prospects

The bank like you are free and able to close your account if you/they no longer want to do business them/you.0

You'll need to seek legal advice in order to pursue your claim.0

Perhaps I am missing something, but if there is a company called C with a bank account in the name C which asks its customers to make payments to T then do you really thing that the problem is "all a mistake of their making"?0

As the Ombudsman has already ruled against you, the odds are stacked sky-high against you winning any court case against Natwest.
Spare yourself the aggro and move on with your life, and with a different bank account(s) - which I suppose you have held for some time already after Natwest terminated your accounts.0 -

Surely it's pretty normal for companies to trade under a different name? Banks must be used to that.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -

The account would then be named C T/A T.0 -
If the bank gave you 60 days notice to open another bank account, how have they treated you unfairly ?0

Cos compo chasers will call anything "unfair" then put on their sad compo face in order to leech money from companies.0

As in "for say £5000 in compensation for treating me unfairl"

They simply don't want to do business with you and have given you sufficient notice to move elsewhere.
Move on and forget about litigation is my suggestion. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
