Hi I applied for UC. im in esa support group. it says on to do section that I need to provide fit note, and book an appointment. Iv never been in work always been in support group. Will my support group status not transfer to UC without me having to get a fit note? If i do need one do I need to get one before I go to the appointment?

Because you are not moving to UC as part of DWP managed migration process, you will have to provide a fit note. UC will later note any entitlement to LCWRA (support) group, but you should mention to Job Centre when you see them, just to make sure they are aware. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

I would say it depends how good your work coach is that you see. If you turn up without a fit note and say I'm moving across from ESA and have always been in the SG, they should be able to just look on the system, see that you were in the SG and treat you as such until that decision moves across onto UC (which could take a few weeks), at which point you shouldn't need a fit note. That's how it should work, and would be good customer service. Alternatively, you may get a work coach who says system says you need a fit note! Hopefully you'll get the former - let us know how you get on. I wouldn't bother getting a fit note before your appointment. See how you get on, and if you get the latter who insists on a fit note, you can always get one afterwards but I would really hope that is not the case. Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter0
