Medical Health Insurance

Hi, I would like to warn people who are thinking of joining CSHealthcare, a mutual medical insurer, NOT TO GO NEAR THEM. They are an organisation that provides poor healthcare cover, cheap service and they lurch from one crisis to another with an ever-falling number of members.
In fact, they are dying, whether it be this year or in 5 years time. Formerly just for civil servants and public employees , they have just opened their door to all people who are looking for personal medical healthcare insurance. Having been a member of CSHealthcare and witnessed their total failure to communicate with the members ( who are supposed to own the friendly mutual society), I can vouch for their poor service and falling standards. They are "ruled" by an elite band of rich top ex civil servants and financial top executives who know nothing about the healthcare needs of ordinary people who wish to pay for health insurance.
AVOID CSHealthcare AT ALL COSTS.

They have a pretty good rating on Trustpilot of 4.4 from 562 reviews. Maybe you have just been unlucky?

A quick scan of their two plans indicates that they offer a budget plan and a plan that you could consider as standard/average. So maybe the op had the budget version and it didnt cover what they needed (as is often the case with budget version plans).

I wholly agree that CSHealthcare is a real trash insurer. I've had dealings with them and I have found their plans to be poor and they are very reluctant to pay off, using small print clauses wherever possible in order to refuse payouts. Their ranking on TrustPilot is a very cunning and disingenuous scam----they beg all members who have been paid insurance money to post 5 star on TrustPilot and they make sure all critical reviews are deleted using every trick in the book. They monitor TrustPilot every minute of the day ( at members' expense ) and so many poor reviews have been deleted over so many years that the current TrustPilot ranking is so far from the truth. The truth is that CSHealthcare , supposedly a mutual friendly society, is run solely by a group of rich old senior civil servants and a few financial "experts" with no healthcare background who never ask all members to vote on any major decision. Membership numbers decrease every year and CSHealthcare is now barely viable as a going concern. I agree with the earlier posting that people thinking of joining should
walk away and look at companies like The Exeter ( a mutual friendly ) or bigger companies such as Aviva etc.

I find it suspicious 2 new accounts criticizing a company one after another.

But you do get what you pay for generally. Without further information OP, difficult to say what the issue is

Just agreeing with someone who obviously feels as strongly as I do about the poor quality of one of the worst health insurers. Sorry if it bothers you,

As someone with unfortunate first-hand experience of CSHealthcare, I urge potential new customers who may be taken in by these TrustPilot figures to think again. CSHealthcare strongly urge all its neutral and favoured members to post glowing reviews on TrustPilot. At the same time they ruthlessly go to great lengths in order to prevent critical reviews staying on the review site before getting them deleted
by using pressure, by monitoring the TrustPilot site at the expense to paying members, by using every bit of TrustPilot small-print in order to cause deletions.
I am aware of several members or ex-members of CSHealthcare who have tried to post critical reviews and have failed to avoid the very cunning and severe tactics applied by CSHealthcare.
I think those who have no direct experience of CSHealthcare need to be aware that it is supposed to be a mutual friendly society, but is neither friendly nor mutual. A ruling elite comprising people who know nothing of "ordinary" folk (who struggle to find the high premiums to try and provide healthcare insurance for their families) control all policy, financial and general decisions and rules. That is the main reason why membership numbers have fallen so low year after year that this insurer is hardly viable now and could break down at any time and leave their members high and dry.
0.25% of total membership turned up for the last annual AGM, always held in London !!!!!! Perhaps that says much of what is going on in this awful medical health insurance company. Compare that with a true mutual and friendly health insurer such as The Exeter, which has nearly 100,000 members because it is democratic and also provides far better healthcare IMHO.
The latest decision by the dying CSHealthcare has been to declare itself open to the whole population, instead of just civil servants as in the past. So this seems a good time to warn unsuspecting "newcomers" who may just think that CSHealthcare is just new and vibrant addition to the rising number of health insurers on the market
steer well clear of this dying, inefficient, domineering and poorly run insurer and join any other of the many other companies, including real friendly societies, on the market.
