I have a car on personal contract hire (PCH) with SEAT it needs it first MOT in January. It has been to SEAT for all its servicing. Just wondering can I take it to any garage for an MOT as SEAT want £50 do do it.

Any registered MOT centre will do - They all have to work to the same strict, laid down procedures.

Depending on the size of your local Seat dealer, they may be getting the MOT's done by another garage down the road

With a 3 year old car,it's unlikely that there will be any serious issues, other than perhaps brake pads, tyres and a misaligned headlamp

That is very close to the maximum they can charge. If you think it's gonna pass take it somewhere cheaper. But either way you aren't gonna save much.

Take it to Kwik fit, they do a cheap mot Lol
  • They might do a cheap MoT, but the cost of fixing the long list of imaginary faults won’t be cheap

You can take it to any MOT place and save a few quid.

However - I ask - if you had the MOT done, say a month before it was due, any work that was requried would probably caught under the 3 year warranty - so why not just get them to do it and also, assuming that the PCH is running behind its 3rd birthday, get them to do a general health check to see if any other warranty work needs doing before it expires?
