Health insurance claim

Apologies if this is in wrong section

I am trying to do a claim for my health. I have made claim via general and medical insurers. They have told me to submit my consent for GP to release my medical notes which i have done

In the form it says for GP to send the notes to my insurance company. But GP says they need a written request from them to process the medical notes. I am stuck as neither is willing to budge.

Is this same with other vendors?

Am i able to request my medical notes from GP then pass on?

You can request your notes but your GP is quite correct not to pass on your notes to just anyone that asks.
