Britannia parking fine for pub car park

Hi
I used a car park for a hungry horse pub in Doncaster on 13 november.
I paid for a parking ticket from the machine but put the registration number in wrong and I didn't keep it. There was no ticket left on my windscreen and the Car park is managed by CCTV.
I didn't overstay and left after 45 minutes.
I recieved a parking charge notice from Britannia parking on the 7 December, this letter is dated 5 December.
I have approached the pub in question and they have advised me to appeal the fine through Britannia parking.
I would like to get some advice on whether or not I have a chance if I appeal. I feel I shouldn't as I paid for a parking ticket but I don't have my ticket as evidence and the pub probably don't have CCTV of me paying at the machine as it was a month ago.
A friend said I Should just ignore it but then I don't want an even more expensive fine if they decide to take it to court.
Any advice will be gratefully recieved.
Many thanks

You need to be far more assertive than that.I have approached the pub in question and they have advised me to appeal the fine through Britannia parking.
Go back again and speak to the manager. Tell him that if he cannot cancel this charge you and your friends and family will be unable to visit again, now that you have found that each visit comes with a £100 (or whatever is) surcharge.
If you still get no joy, repeat you complaint to Hungry Horse / Greene King Chief Executive Officer in Bury St Edmunds.0 -
Do as KeithP suggests.
Be polite but firm with the manager and get his name.
If he is stubborn let him know you will be contacting the CEO with regards to the lack of his cooperation.

In the meantime read the NEWBIES thread (one click back third thread down) to understand the game you have entered.0 -
MSE blog from 2.5 YEARS ago , so predates your visit

read em and weep
in future keep paid for contractual parking tickets
read the popla report on miskeyed VRM details
everyone has a chance at popla , but the landowner cancellation is ALWAYS BEST0 -
No chance! Read CEC16's thread about Britannia being slapped about that.Should just ignore it but then I don't want an even more expensive fine if they decide to take it to court.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They took 22 days to write to me, is that allowed. I would have thought they'd have to contact you sooner than that ? Surely not many people keep tickets for 3 weeks if you unwittingly made a mistake and contravened rules.0

All of that is answered in the NEWBIES thread where I tell you about the POFA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
