if you're waiting and waiting for something to come from M&S because an item is not in stock then do call their customer help desk as I have been waiting for a Christmas present to arrive for a month! and yet when I called they said - oh we are out of stock and none arriving in the forseeable future, we do have it in another colour! So you won't get any proactive feedback from them by email but they are very helpful on the phone. It is an 08 number though - 0845 302 1234 - but they are efficient.
Also - once I had changed the order (actually you have to cancel and then reorder, but semantics) with the very helpful lady I then wanted to add something to it a bit later in the day to save an Xmas trip to M&S (shivers!) and I was told could not add to the order which I guess is pretty reasonable. I said to the lady I don't want to pay postage twice (as was under the freebie threshold above) and she said never mind, and placed the order and knocked the postage off. No ask no get and all that! x Claire£3k back from Natwest:beer:, approx 29% saved on major debts due to Martin's tarting advice and LOTS more (inc weight loss too! ... I had an email yesterday saying that one of my ordered 5 items was out of stock and couldn't be delivered now. This order went back to earlier in November when they had £10 off if you spent over £75 or something like that. Well, as the item was a £45 dress, it brought the total below the £75 and so they added the £10 discount back on to my total.
As I didn't want to wait for the other things, I asked to cancel the order totally and after some conversation with a super lady at the other end, she canceled the order in full and added a £10 credit to my account as a good will gesture for my disappointment!
I was very impressed with that - it will be lovely to use that when I see something after Xmas that I want!
Full marks to M and S for customer service in that instance!!!0
