Steam Iron

Hi Guys,

I'm after the house gods/godesses opinion on the best steam iron for the best price. There are some really cheap which are poor, and some very steep - £3-400+ which I think are not necessary.

I will just be doing the usual house-ironing, but want something nice and powerful.

Also, what are the best price-comparison sites for home stuff such as irons, etc?

You need to decide whether you want a standard steam iron or a steam generator iron. Philips are generally regarded as the best.

im after a steam generator one, where the iron sits on the unit that you fill with water - cheers

If hard water factor in buying water for longevity.

My wife has had a couple of Tefal steam generators and been happy with them. They've each lasted about 7 years of almost daily use.
