Water Filter - Fridge Freezer

:rolleyes: Have bought a Samsung Side by side Fridge freezer says water filter should last 6 months but light has come on after 2 1/2 months has anyone else experienced this.

Did you buy an ex-display model?

Seems odd as the filter light is based on timing not use.

This is not at all uncommon - as the poster above rightly says the reset is based on a timer, not on the water quality, so simply reset the light (ICE TYPE AND CHILD LOCK for three seconds), and change the filter in four months time.

Usually power failiure or moving the fridge is the most common reason, BUT, some fridges just seem to have timers which trigger at random or shorter intervals - we've known customers to have bought filters, reset the light and then have it trigger in as little as a couple of weeks.

Just work on six monthly changes (yes, manual note on the calendar) and things should work out just fine. I've a Daewoo side-by-side myself, just bought from Dixons on the old Egg 5% plus cashback offer, and I have to say for about £540 inc delivery is a very sound buy.
