Hello people.
Im due to be made redundant before xmas after 22 years working for a company.wevehad 2 letters and also my gaffer tells us that were entitled to 12 years redundancy pay.i thought it was 20 years as i read that at .gov.uk.
I know the first couple of years i was self employed.
My question is is there a way to find out exacley how many years ive been on the books with this firm.like from my tax code or national insurance number so i know im not being short changed in this redundancy please and thanks.

have you not kept your employment docs and P60s/payslips?0

It's a maximum of 12 weeks notice pay and, yes, you are right, length of service is capped at 20 years.
You will receive a letter, when your redundancy is definite, with the figures on it. You need to be looking through your own documentation to check when your self employment ended in the first instance. You could also check with HMRC.Saving money right, left and centre0 -
