Hoping someone can help. About to buy an HP all in one - waiting for it to come back in stock with i-5, * RAM and 2TB for around £600 but then noticed that it only has a 1 year guarantee.
It has £350 off at Currys. For the same price (with no discount) Is a Medion Akoya with similar spec and seems to have ok reviews and has 3 yr guarantee which is attractive. There are also option of none, 128 or 256 additional memory - is this important to have.
Just do everyday things, some photos, some home working but no gaming etc. Normal middle aged use.
Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

The Medion I'm going to presume is this one:

The only HP marked as £350 off at Currys seems to be this one:

Personally, I wouldn't go for an all in one, much harder to upgrade and fix. A proper desktop would be a better choice.0

Same as what he said above- non of them. Rather would get a good screen and put a micro PC on the back, or even a Pi,etc.
The hp one may be easier to get spares for. Medion 3 year warranty is tempting. non have ssd, if you install the ssd will you lose the warranty? If the warranties were equal, hp is slightly better with ips screen, 5 usb ports and has nearly twice the weight of the Medion, possibly glass in the screen, rather than a weighted stand to stop it falling over?.0 -
Hi, many thanks, someone else had mentioned not getting an all in one in case something goes wrong. I'm totally untechie.
When you say a micro pc do you have any suggestions or where I buy one from?
I just don't want it taking up too much space so a smaller pc than the bulky tower I have (about 10 years old) would be good and a few less wires. I do like the idea of being able to replace say the monitor if something goes wrong.
Appreciate the help0 -
Do you have something now?
Have you considered upgrading that?.
Have you ever upgraded a PC.0 -

No to AIO. You can't upgrade and it is not portable. And personally againist NUC for the same reason
For that price tag, you can get laptop + monitor.
I suggest you consider this
Lenovo ideapad S145-14IWL 14" £400 @ AO
i5 8265u, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD
get a hdmi cable and connect with monitor with speaker/ TV.
Cheap wireless keyboard and mouse
External HDD for additional storage0 -
Hi,
Many thanks everyone. I think the laptop and monitor is best as I like a large screen so reason for PC but also thinking about portability as don't always want to be in the same room.
Will progress!0 -

Not even a Full HD screen on that laptop...
