Teletext still won't return money - what do I do?

Hi,
I booked a holiday with Teletext holidays on 15th September 19 and the flights were with Thomas Cook so on 23rd they went bust Teletext informed me they would contact me to discuss, I spoke with advisor Wed 25th, and they couldn't offer suitable flights, so agreed to full refund of £819, couldn't give me a reference but thought it sorted, next day I got msgs telling me they needed to speak to me, eventually got through to someone else who said previous call had not been logged but they would cancel it all now, again no reference to give as thats not how they work! Still getting msgs days later telling me to contact them so phoned again to be told holiday was still 'live' and what did I want to do! Cancel as per previous conversation was my reply, assurance from advisor this time would be done! No ref of course would be 2 to 3 wks for full refund... Came, no refund... New call delay another 2 wks.... 3 times I've waited and called and been fobbed off, last call they told me they had notes telling them they've told me 3 times 2 to 3 wks but this time it will be 3 weeks! I still haven't had any thing and I am stressing out big time and do not know what my next course of action is! My anxiety is sky high and I just want the cash they took so promptly returning to my Barclaycard. I have spoken to BC and they won't do anything except hold off taking full payment. Any ideas what I should do?

    In this case, your only claim is against Teletext Holidays (Truly Travel) You are almost certainly not the only person in this situation, but others, such as On the Beach who had £7M worth of bookings with Thomas Cook Airlines refunded the money within a week. This means you now need to report the fact to the CAA, (they are not members of ABTA) and report that an ATOL holder appears to be withholding refunds. Talking to their call centre, which is based overseas, is unlikely to get you anywhere. Anyone else in a similar situation please join this thread

    I’m having the exact same problem, I’ve been calling teletext holidays since Oct 25th, being told each time the refund with be in my account with 3-5 days, to date still no joy, so I’ve now reported this to the CAA. Let me know how you get on, and I’ll do the same.
