    Thanks for that, Calcotti.

The assessment periods seem to run from the 5th to the 6th so looks like they can reapply today?

And I'm not sure there are grounds for appeal, but does reapplying now mean they won't be able to?

If the option to reapply is already there I assume you can do it now. Is the assessment period ending today the one for which a nil assessment was determined or was it the assessment period ending 6th November. If the latter it is essential that you reclaim today to avoid losing a month.

Note also that there are complex rules about ‘surplus earnings’ which mean that if the payment was large it could affect more than one month of UC. However it is essential to keep reclaiming UC each month in order for DWP to do monthly UC calculations to work through any ‘surplus’.

Making a new claim does not prevent you asking for a Mandatory Reconsideration of the decision on the previous claim. One warning on this. If you think you might want to challenge the previous claim I think you need to download all the information on that claim before making the reclaim. My understanding is that when you reclaim the existing information on your journal will disappear and you will no longer be able to access it.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

The nil assessment was for the period from 6 November-5 December.

The files on the journal can be downloaded and the rest screenshotted I suppose.

OK, so assessment period is the 6th to the 5th (your earlier post said 5th to 6th). In that case may as well reclaim today and then it’s done. As previously advised I recommend you make a record of anything you want to keep by whatever means works.
