So here is the story,
I noticed some transactions my account associated with a PayPal and 32red.
I queried these as being transactions I didn't really recognised. I was then re-debited £430 by the bank.
The bank then sent the result of their investigation and turns out it was my step dad who had used my card. I finally put 2&2 together and realised it was as a direct result of a gambling addiction. He has said he will pay back the amounts and he is also seeking some help which is a start.
I tried explaining the situation to the bank after I saw their initial report on the transactions but aren't really interested in hearing it.
The bank have since re-debited the amounts against my account but also closed my account and after a bit of research I'm assuming a CIFAS has been issued against me.
Now my step dad is stressing the police will get involved even though I don't want to press charges as I'd rather we help him get through this issue with the right help.

You'll need to make a choice between covering for your step dad or protecting your own future, whether that involves the police or the bank.
How much of the truth did you tell the bank? Also, how did your step dad get your card, and how was it used?0 -
It's part of the terms and conditions of pretty much any bank account that your card is kept secure and no-one else has access to it.
Obviously this hasn't been the case if your step-dad was able to use it."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0 -
I'm assuming a CIFAS has been issued against me.
No need to assume. Find out ASAP:
