Best time to ring for PIP report?

Some people I’ve spoke to said they never got a text to say their report was sent so they just rang and asked.

How longs best to leave until you contact them if you don’t get a text.

My assessment was Wednesday gone.

A week at least. If you put a mobile number down on the form then they will text you once they receive it back. If you don't have a text then it could have been sent to audit, if this happens they it can significantly delay the decision process.
  • Thanks I’ll give them a ring on Wednesday then just to check as that will be a week.
  • Thinking maybe my report has went for audit as still nothing received, or does it sometimes take this long?

If it's in audit then it could significantly delay the decision because there's no timescales how long it will be in audit for. The longest i've had one of my assessment reports in audit for is just over 5 weeks. Ring the health assessment providers and they will tell you for sure if it's in audit.
  • Just rang the provider and they confirmed it has went through audit. He did say however it shouldn’t take too long.

    What does it mean?

Hate to read too much into it but there’s horror stories on places like Facebook saying auditors force assessors to change things on their reports etc. Surely that’s not correct?

It just means that it's being checked to make sure the HCP is doing their job correctly. Nothing to worry about, i've had 2 reports sent to audit and it's never affected anything.

Not sure how the person you spoke to knew it wouldn't take long in audit because there's no timescales.

As Christmas is just around the corner and the report is in audit then you will most likely not receive the decision before Christmas.

Unfortunately there's nothing more you can do but wait. Once it's returned DWP will text you, if you wrote a mobile number down on the form.
  • To be honest he probably doesn’t have a clue and just said it to get me off the phone and in fairness he did say what you said too “no timescales” but then followed with “it shouldn’t be too long” so maybe he shouldn’t of said that.

Yes my mobile number is provided so I’ll just wait on the text.

I know it can take a while for the decision so I wasn’t expecting a decision before Christmas anyway.

    I’ll keep you all updated.
  • Just thought I’d update you all that after 2 weeks 2 days my report has been sent to DWP. So even with audit it didn’t take too long just in case others wanted to know.

I’ve requested it and with Xmas next week might take a while to get it but least so should have the report by end of December so a decision by end of January hopefully.
  • Requested the report Friday and have it today.

    I’m pretty happy, very accurate.

Scored 11 care & 12 mobility which I believe is standard & enhanced.

Obviously I know the DM could not go with this but often I’ve heard they do.

Again I know I’m 1 point from enhanced on care but I don’t think I would do an MR as I don’t want to rock the boat.

    Thanks guys.
