Meter reader Q

While I was out, my wife informs me that we had a visit from a meter reader! First since 2015. Apparently to read the gas.
As I'm with a small supplier, Avro (and have been with various small Cos. since 2015) my question is ,where does the reading go?
To the local distributor or data collector ,as I presume Avro won't be paying to have meters read!!
Also, I assume, longer term any such check readings will end up with the DCC.

Every company has to contract a DC/DA, but for small suppliers it is unlikely one of their own. The distributor afaik will not get it. It's more like data retriever sends it to data collector who validates it and passes on to data aggregator and meter operator. Who then passes it on to the supplier.

Your gas will have been on the must be read/"gas safety check" list after that long without a read. Regular changing of supplier does mess it up though.
