    There may be, but it's not the kind of thing I'd want to DIY: consequences of getting it wrong could be a lot more than the cost of the DofV. I think we paid £200 a few years ago.

    ours was £600 ! Me and sister only/joint beneficiaries. Sister was executor. We each gifted £xk to my sons. I now want to gift them more.(Still within 2 yrs of death). I/we have used the £3 exemption already. Sister would agree (if she needs to) as it doesn't affect her. Just cannot find a DIY DoV…..

    Any reason you can't use the one you have as a template?
    Your sister doesn't need to agree unless she is giving your sons some of her inheritance.

    When we were considering a DoV I spoke to the HMRC helpline, who said they would be content with the provisions just written out. We didn't feel confident doing this, so had it drawn up professionally. It was around £600, but that fee also covered checking the IHT forms I had prepared.
