Fraudulent activity, chargeback?

Hey,

Looked at my Credit Card statement today to found a mysterious payment of £5000!!!

Pretty sure some one has used my details for something, any way I have phoned the bank, cancelled my cards and requested a chargeback.

Question is how long does it take the bank to process the chargeback (to the point I have the credit back)?

An awful lot depends on the card issuer and how the transaction was authorised.

You dont ask for a chargeback

    You report it as fraud

Theres a big difference, call back and ensure its been passed on as fraud to the correct department
