Newbie returns help needed

Hi everyone.
I’m a newbie and I need advice. I bought a washing machine from Curry’s. After 32 days it was leaking out the door. So I went back looking a refund but they said I had to contact Beko and get them out to fix it. Engineer came out and said he’s never seen a new machine leak from the door before and that I should refuse the repair and try to get it replaced. That was 3 days ago and beko haven’t been in contact yet. I suffer from v bad anxiety and I would just like a new machine that I can put on and not pant that it’s going to flood my kitchen. Any advice on what i should do? Thanks x

  • Are you sure Beko are going to provide a new machine as that would be down to Curry's.
  • Curry’s told me as it was over 30 days I had to take it up with beko. Beko said I had to get it repaired and the engineer told me I should be able to get a replacement. It’s too confusing. I just don’t t understand it all.

Tell them it isn't of sufficient quality.

    How did you pay ?
  • I paid with a debit card. Curry’s told me after 30 days they didn’t deal with it and they gave me a leaflet that said that I had to contact Beko.

Thanks everyone for helping. You’re tall great. X

Ok it's been over 30 days so the short term right to reject has passed.

As it's under 6 months the fault is deemed inherent at time of purchase so they are at this stage responsible.

They can however have it repaired which is their right to do, so the Beko engineer had no right giving you false hope and should have just done his job and repaired it.

Currys can and will if you insist deal with it for you but they will just do what you already did and get Beko back out.

You could speed it up and call Beko again and find out what exactly they are doing about it, or you could phone Currys and just go round in circles with them eventually getting a resolution that will take much longer.
