Where's the instruction booklet?

Just bought a new LG tv and (as seems to be the current trend) there is no instruction book with it. Yes, I know there's an 'on board' guide and information via the Internet, but I like something to refer to, while I'm trying out the options.

For example, I've set a reminder to turn on a certain TV programme every day. I've now discovered that it will do this, even if the TV is switched off. Not at all what I expected! This means that if we happened to be out, then the TV would switch itself on. I can't find any information anywhere about how to cancel a reminder. If there'd been a booklet (as in the good old days) I'm sure there would have been some info.

So, if anyone knows how to cancel reminders on an LG 4K TV, then I'd be very grateful for some help. :o

It'll only switch itself on in if the TV's left on standby...not if it's off off

The TV that switches itself on when it isn't even plugged into the mains... is the time to start running. The TV in The Ring did that... and we all know how that turned out ;)

Thanks for the suggestion - I've tried the LG support site. The manuals are little more than a guide to the remote.

Don't be silly, Mr Jones! I didn't say my tv was unplugged when it turns itself on! Er, well, I don't think so ..... of course, I should have said 'standby'. :p

What is the model number of your LG TV? I can use that to find a full manual on the LG website, in the Support pages.
When I buy anything new that does not have a proper manual, just a user guide (as so many things do now) I find it online, usually in PDF form. Then I look through the dozens of pages in loads of languages, to find just the ones I need, and print them out.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

Wouldn't have thought it was that difficult. Usual method is to highlight the programme you have the reminder set for again and you should get the option to delete reminder.

Model number LG 49UM7400PLB ... and yes, I've been on the LG website and downloaded the User Manual (which, as I said, is not much more than a guide to using the 2 remotes). There's also a Quick Set Up guide (the original of which actually did come in the box). However, there is also an Owners Manual which seems to be a zip file (of about 5,000 pages) and when I unzip it, it's nothing but an index in many, many languages. (In HTML format - means nothing to me, I'm afraid - I was looking for a PDF document).

To respond to RumRat - yes, I thought that too. Doesn't work!

(Just to compare - we have a Panasonic BluRay recorder/player and that came with a very detailed instruction book, which has been very useful and saved me from tearing my hair out on many occasions.)
