Credit limit increases

Options
Just phoned to increase my limit with my credit card (Christmas shopping - that time of the year) and the advisor said there might be a charge of £10.

Is this case with all companies, or a select few, because i've never heard of this before.

Thanks

I've not had that before (Egg or Nationwide don't charge it).

That's something I couldn't fault much-maligned Capital One, Citi or Goldfish for. Neither MBNA or the Royal Bank of Scotland cards have charged me either.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
  • I have a Lloyds card but I'm in the process of changing it because they bumped up my interest rate by 3% last month for no reason, despite having the card for years and never missing a payment and being a good girl with it. You have to constantly switch cards nowadays to keep getting good deals. They don't value your loyalty at all.
  • I don't do credit cards, too tempting to spend money I don't have & can't afford to pay back.
