Random refund from Morrisons

I just saw on my Amex card a random refund of 25p from Morrisons, a few days after I shopped there.

I never returned anything, does anyone have any idea what this would be?

If it was a random refund then presumably you were chosen at random to receive it.

Was it an online shop? With other supermarkets, I'm charged the estimated amounts and any variations such as loose veg being a bit lighter than expected is shown as a refund.

Did you use an Amex - I have a 10% Cashback offer on my card
  • Sounds like cashback, which shows up couple of days after transaction. Didn't you sing up to one of the offers?
  • Cashback I would imagine.
  • Oh you guys are right.

There was a smaller £2.45 transaction I missed before (there was one at £15 and one at £73 which is why it didn't make sense)

I thought cashback was added up and paid out at the end of the year though? I guess the offers are different?

Yes the money back from these specific offers is usually credited to the account a few days after the original transaction, and is separate to the annual cashback payment.
