cashplus asking for payment on closed acc

Hi, Need some advice please. I received a letter from Cashplus regarding a missed payment back in 2016. According to the letter they required to send 'Notice of Sums in Arrears'. The account itself went into default but has been settled and closed in 2017. I rang the helpline and they asked me the current balance?? Surely…

I think it's due to them wanting to become a bank that they're trying to get their !!!! together and make sure they are complying with regulations.

If the accounts settled don't worry about it
