cds to ipod nano. album cover help!!

I've bought my hubby an ipod nano for xmas (shh!) and I've managed to save some of our cd albums to it, but it has a feature where you can scroll through the album covers. My problem is, I don't know how to get the album art onto the Nano!!

This is my first ipod experience, so please excuse my ignorance!! I have tried the appla help pages, but they seem to assume you'll get music online, not from cds.

Thank you.

When you convert CDs to MP3 using iTunes there is a preference to "get album artwork". The option is also in the Advanced menu "Get album artwork". Many CDs don't have artwork online, but there are other services which can download them (such as http://art4itunes.com/getart/uploadtracks.php)

If you are using a Mac there are several Dashboard widgets that fetch album artwork from Amazon and other stores to fill in gaps missing in your library.

You can also scan your covers and drag and drop onto the iTunes window (where the artwork shows).

If artwork isn't being transferred to the iPod automatically, you need to change a setting:

    1. Select your iPod under the Devices section in the iTunes Source pane.
    2. Select the Music tab of the iPod settings. The iPod settings are displayed to the right in the main iTunes window.
    3. Click the "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
    4. Click Apply to save the changes. The iPod begins to update as soon as Apply is clicked.

    EASIEST WAY TO DO THIS.

Open iTunes and click on the album you need the artwork for. Go to amazon.co.uk and search for that album. Click on the "Enlarge View" on the amazon webpage for that album. Click on the picture, hold the mouse button down and drag to the "Album Artwork" bit in iTunes which should be in the bottom left.

I've tried using the widgets and websites that run scripts to do it and they're a pain.
  • There is a lot easier way of doing it, import your songs to Itunes, and ensure that cddb.com has got the album information from importing it, and then go to advanced and then Get Album Artwork

That then goes through all the songs in your database and gets the artwork.

    Hope that helps
