Has anyone had any luck haggling Estate Agent Fees for Letting?

Hi,
I'm wanting to rent my house and I've had 4 Estate Agents come to view and value the property. The fees range from 9% - 13%. Is there any chance I could haggle them down or will they just turn around and say "we offer … more than the other agents" (or something along those lines)?

You'll only find out by asking. Depends how keen they are for your business. But to b honest, price should not be your highest priority in choosing between them. It can be a false economy. See also

yes - if they are managing i would ask them to split the let and the management fee - and make the letting fee applicable for the first year only. If your tenant stays for 3 years, you shouldn't be paying letting fees for all that time - the job was done once. So if its 13% ask for a 7% / 5% split for letting / management so after year one you are paying 5% for the management for as long as the tenant is there. Obviously if you need a new tenant then they get the letting fee again for that year.0
