Copy and adapt my new template defence in the new thread started this week.  No link.
It's not in the NEWBIES thread yet.  Please be one of the first to download & adapt it, to try to get your case struck out.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • You asked
    - should you start a defence? Well, yes. given the claim form instructs you to either pay or file a defence, thats fairly clear!
    - that youd read the thread, and had read at least one of the defences.
You wouldn't speak to me like this in person, so please refrain here. Everybody else so far has given entirely dignified responses. I asked a yes/no question, to which you gave an impolite response containing neither answer. I also asked for advice on how to start, which has now kindly been given in the other replies here.

When you read the NEWBIE sticky, did you see links to 17 (16 as the first link is broken) pre-written defences?  That is the (second) best place to start, the first now being to search for Coupon-mad's recently posted Template Defence IF the claimant has added the spurious £60 "contractual costs" or similar wording.

Thank you for the guidance, I'll have a read through and report back once I've made a start, or with any more questions.

Also thank you, I'll have a look at that and try to make a start!

The date of issue was 05/02/20 and I performed the AoS on 17/02/20, so it look like I've got until 04/03/20.
With a Claim Issue Date of 5th February, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 9th March 2020 to file your Defence.
A few more days than you thought. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.

To file a Defence, follow the guidance in this post:
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Thank you Keith, I appreciate the help (and timeline extension!). Can I ask, how did you get that the deadline is Monday 9th March? I had thought it was 28 days from the issue date. What have I missed?

I will have a thorough look the guidance you kindly shared.
I've already been running through Coupon-Mad's suggested template, but I'm sure I'll have more questions!

    You are mistaken.

The back of your Claim Form tells you:

    It goes on to say:

Apologies if I didn't make clear above; I didn't doubt for a second that I was mistaken!

Thank you for the clarification, that's a big relief!
