BEWARE! Henry Stowe Fake Solicitors

My 94 year old uncle nearly fell for a scam when a leaflet was put through his letterbox for 'Henry Stowe Solicitors'.
Having previously worked for the SRA when they were based in Leamington Spa (where Henry Stowe also claims to be based) I immediately checked the SRA ID printed in the leaflet and it has not been issued to any firm of Solicitors ever. The SRA have also announced that Henry Stowe is not a genuine firm of solicitors, on their Scam Alert page. The sartirical website 'Roll On Friday' had a very unpleasant expereince when they called the firm,
Sorry, but as a newcomer to the site, I understand I cannot provide links. But please search the internet for comments about these scammers as the leaflet they are posting in the Leamington Spa/Warwick area claims they are Solicitors when they are not.
As far as I can determine, a former employee of a genuine Leamington Spa Solicitors firm left their employ a few weeks ago and is director of Henry Stowe Ltd. That person is NOT a solicitor, being a Cilex associate member only. A complaint to Cilex has been made.
During my time working for the SRA, I saw many websites for fake solicitors but I cannot recall a single instance where fake solicitors actually posted leaflets through doors, falsely claiming to be solicitors - so totally brazen that many people just might be fooled by the SRA Logo and SRA ID on those leaflets.

"...which is just one day before an Associate Cilex member left her job as the head of Ward and Rider’s Wills and Probate department. Her name is now apparently linked with Henry Stowe Solicitors…

Henry Stowe (fake Solicitors) are still posting several thousand leaflets through letterboxes in the Leamington Spa area, still bearing the SRA logo and an SRA number they are not entitled to use, despite the SRA’s Scam Alert.
If you call Henry Stowe to challenge their bona fides, be prepared to be met with a barrage of abuse…

Thanks for publishing those links guys. Thankfully, the website has now been taken down though this probably does not help that much given the thousands of leaflets pushed through letterboxes bearing the company's phone number. If the SRA asked the City of London Police to take down the website I hope they did the same with the company's phone number. That should go a long way to closing this business down.0

I have always understood that it was a criminal offence to impersonate a solicitor.
Am I wrong?0 -

I followed up the Roll On Friday website.., the end of the article made me laugh. One director of the firm said
“I look forward to reading the story, I’ll wipe my a** with it”, he added, before hanging up.
