Barclaycard interest query

I have a fairly hefty balance on my Barclaycard at a 0 % promotional rate.
Am I right by thinking (or interpreting the summary box) that I can still use the card for purchases, and these purchases will be 0 % as long as my minumum payment I make in the following month covers the total amount of purchases?

it depends on your particular T&Cs. Normally you only get 0% on purchases 'for up to 56 days' as long as you pay the balance in full after the statement is issued. That would mean paying off the balance transfer (I assume that is what the promo is on) as well as the purchases. There have been a couple of cards mentioned where they seperate the promo and the purchases and you get the 0% as long as the purchases are paid in full - this is not the norm so you need to look at the details of your particular card.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Thanks. This is from the summary box...So I assume I can use it for purchases at they will still be 0 %?
Maximum 56 days from date of transaction for new purchases, non-sterling cash withdrawals and any balance and money transfers on a promotional rate that have been added to your account since your last statement if you pay your main balance (excluding any promotional balance with a 0% interest rate) and any monthly instalment plan payments (if you've taken out any instalment plans) in full and on time each month.0 -

Assuming the 'hefty balance' is a prior 0% balance transfer, Barclaycard is one of the few CC providers where it is 'safe' to make purchases when carrying a promotional balance. The other I can think of is Nationwide.
So, yes, as long as you wait for the statement showing your new purchases before paying (this is very important) and as long as your payment covers at least the amount of the new purchases and is also at least the minimum payment asked for, you will not get charged interest.
Barclaycard has told me this in the past. We also had another thread on here not so long ago (can't remember which one) where someone else also received the same advice from Barclaycard.0 -
