UKPC parking charge

Options
Hi, in England I received a ticket because I didn't register my car today to the gym...
It was my first day of trial and obviously I didn't take care of it...
Other people actually had the same problem even if registered.

I've read many discussions, very old and new, so for my understanding I should ignore them, especially because the gym is far from everything else, no one would go to park the car there without going to the gym, the gym assistance told me to claim it and it will be "probably" removed...

So, what's the best as of today? I don't want to receive threats at home, it looks bad also to the other flatmates...

The funny story is that eventually thay guy was hidden somewhere, literally no one was there to check the cars, I checked around for a while, this way to me seems already a scam totally outside the law.
If they have videocameras they should be able to send it home already, as DVLA has my updated address...

BTW the gym could have asked my plate online, as it is an obvious requirement to go there...

The advice to ignore a PCN has not been given here since the law changed in 2012. If you have seen advice to the contrary then it is old and out of date.

Complain to the gym and tell them to cancel it. If they don't, then find another gym and tell the old one why. You can't afford a £100 charge from a known scammer every time someone visits the gym.

Read the sticky thread for NEWBIERS then send the appeal template in blue text you will find there in post 1. Send it unaltered from the keeper.

If/when it is rejected, read post 3 of the NEWBIES on how to beat the scammers at PoPLA.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D

    Welcome!

The NEWBIES thread tells you to appeal on day 26, and why, and how.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry guy do not have seen that thread, but this discussion is anyway useful for me, please don't close it as I'm not British...

So for my understanding this is the piace of text I need to send over the appeal form online, with a fake email and fake info compiled in the form.

    Re PCN number:

I dispute your 'parking charge', as the keeper of the vehicle. I deny any liability or contractual agreement and I will be making a formal complaint about your predatory conduct to your client landowner and to my MP.

There will be no admissions as to who was driving and no assumptions can be drawn. Since your PCN is a vague template, I require ALL photos taken and an explanation of the allegation and your evidence, i.e.:

    - If the allegation concerns a PDT machine, the data supplied in response to this appeal must include the record of payments made - showing partial VRNs - and an explanation of the reason for the PCN, because your Notice does not explain it.

    - If the allegation involves an alleged overstay of minutes, your evidence must include the actual grace period agreed by the landowner. If you fail to evidence the actual grace period that applies at this site or suggest that only one period applies, this will be disregarded as an attempt to mislead. In the absence of evidence, it will be reasonably taken to be a minimum of twenty minutes (ten on arrival and ten after parking time) in accordance with the official BPA article by Kelvin Reynolds about 'observation periods' on arrival being additional and separate to a 'grace period' at the end.

    - in all cases, you must include a close up actual photograph of the sign you contend was at the location on the material date.

    Formal note:
Should you later pursue this charge by way of litigation, note that service of any legal documents by email is expressly disallowed and you are not entitled to assume that the data in this dispute/appeal remains the current address for service in the future.

    Yours faithfully
    ,

Hwre obviously because is online I don't put any name.

What I could mention is my membership number of the gym, so if the gym manager receives a call from these people, he will check and maybe confirm the invalidity of the fine, and till now no personal data disclosed from my side, what di you think?

To be precise, I received a letter on the widescreen, nothing else.

Honestly I'm really scared as I'm quite new in UK and I would trash all my good work with my credit score...

Sorry what now, where did you read that?! WHO SAID FAKE?

Of course you put your name! NOTHING FAKE.

    BUT NOT YET!

What would be the point of a fake email and data, and why are you NOT waiting till day 26 if his was a windscreen PCN, just as the NEWBIES thread tells you to (and that thread explains why, so I'm not typing it again!).

Don't forget to complain to the gym. If they are the landowner they do have the authority to cancel the PCN. If they are not the landowner, ask them who is and complain to the landowner's CEO.

Ask to speak to the manager of the gym. Explain the situation and politely insist on cancellation.
  • The only chance to complain to the manager is to do it online, I hope is enough, I can't pretend to meet the manager there...

Have you seen this? Make sure the manager sees it.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, as it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
