I have a town house I used to live in but now a rental and have to say it was great.. It is three stories with the top story in the roof so only a bit taller than a two story house. For a relatively new build 15yrs old it has 2 really good size double bedrooms plus a massive bedroom on top floor with ensuite and walk in wardrobe.

Lounge/dining room plus kitchen, ground floor toilet, cupboard and large under stairs cupboard on ground floor so traditio al layout.

Positives: big bedrooms, great layout. 3 toilets/2 bathrooms great for a family. Lots of storage space. Keeps you fit going up and down 2 flights of stairs.

Nagatives: in proportion less living space compared to bedroom space. Small garden/footprint. Annoying when u forget something and have to go up two flights of stairs. Annoying fire doors that close automatically.

When there is a delivery that needs signing for I am always on the top floor!
  • It sounds like there are some people who they really work for, but personally I wouldn't. That's just based on visiting my sister - she uses the top floor as the guest room and I hate it when I have to go up and down the stairs! Also her living room is quite small comparatively due to the smaller footprint,

As with most things it's horses for courses!

For the same money, your sister might have got a two storey house with a living room that is barely bigger, and with no guest room at all. However much you dislike the stairs, you'd hate to camp in a tent in the back garden. :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • I think the biggest issue is parking. seems odd, but most have only street parking. i dohn't like that since i don't like the prospect of people tampering with my car. Seems really odd, but i've always lived in places with dedicated driveways.
Another point is the size, but then this depends on the family size. or if a single person doesn't mind it. There is the single person's council tax allowance though, so it balances out.
