Doddle Mattress 100 Night Trial

Good Afternoon,
My wife and i were looking for a new mattress and noticed some of the hybrid/memory foam mattresses come with 100 night trials, we just happened to be in Barker and Stonehouse and saw they had a mattress that had the 100 night trial so we decided to purchase thinking if it didn't suit then we could send it back and purchase a different one. As it happens we haven't had a decent nights sleep in 2 months so we contacted Barker and Stonehouse, after speaking with 3 different representatives we have been told that the trial is direct with the manufacturer.
The mattress we purchased is made by Doddle but having visited their website cannot get any contact for them and even their website seems a little dodgy as none of the links on the website lead anywhere and there are no contact details on there either.
Are Barker and Stonehouse responsible for the trial or have we been led up the garden path?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Chris

If it wasn't clear in the shop that it was something offered directly by the manufacturer, I would have thought it reasonable for you to presume that it was being offered by the shop.
I see their website just says "100 night trial - get to know your Doddle", with no other detail I can see - did you get anything else when you bought?0 -
The website is only actually a header page with dead links at the top including the 100 night trial link and no contact details anywhere.

I would'nt have thought Barker and Stonehouse would deal with a company like this?
After contacting Barker they told me that all the info is in the mattress but there is only a small leaflet with the same info as the website and the actual website address which as you can see goes nowhere.0 -
It came with the mattress, 2 pillows and the leaflet in a box0

All the 100 night trials i have seen are from the manufacturer . Buy same mattress from Argos / Amazon etc and no trial . Its well documented across a number of brands and sellers .
The two i have purchased have been very clear in the fact that only the manufacture gives the 100 day trial .0 -
I agree with this - the trial is on B&S's website with no small print or explanation so it's reasonable to assume it's something B&S offer. You can't get contact details for doddle because they're simply the manufacturer and you don't have a contract with them.If it wasn't clear in the shop that it was something offered directly by the manufacturer, I would have thought it reasonable for you to presume that it was being offered by the shop.

I'd be firm with B&S and say that you want to exercise your right to the trial and if they don't agree, you will take it up with your credit card company (assuming you paid by card to get protection?) and pursue it that way.
edited to add: just realised you may have purchased in-store. Same principle applies if there was no separate information provided to show that the trial offer wasn't offered by B&S themselves.0 -

how is that relevant to the Op if they bought in a store that was advertising a 100 night trial.
I think the retailer is passing the buck,
having said that and re reading the OP it isnt clear if it did say that in store, just that they saw the mattress and knew it came with the 100 night trial0 -
Yes it did say 100 night trial next to the mattress in store which is the reason we purchased it in the first place.
Barker and Stonehouse have just been back in touch to say they cannot get in touch with Doddle either!
I think the long and short of it is that Barker are going to honour what was advertised in store as it did not say trial is direct with the manufacturer but we have to visit the store on Sunday to discuss.0 -

hope you get it sorted, strange that the retailer cant get in touch with them.0 -
According to “Which” you should return it to the retailer0
