Hi Guyz, any advice will be highly appreciated.
Current life status:
- Working and living in the uk for past 5years
- Currently on a working visa(tier 2)
- Earning more than 50k+
- 3years more to ILR
I wish to get on the property ladder(first buyer).
1. As i do not have a leave to remain in the UK "yet", how does this affect any possible loan from a bank?
2. Do i qualify in the help to buy scheme ?
3. Except from the "popular 10% first pay", is there anything else i need to know ?
4. Further tips and ideas will be HIGHLY appreciated
thanks in advance,
phelun

1. This varies from bank to bank and depends on how long until your visa is up for renewal, time lived in UK, time in work etc. I think at least one high street bank (Halifax or Nationwide, not sure which of the two) doesn't make much fuss if you satisfy certain criteria which, according to your intro, you do.
2. You qualify for HTB if you satisfy the criteria - i.e. have you ever owned a property and all that. They don't care about your nationality as long as you are legally working here.
3. I have no idea what that is.
4. Speak to a mortgage advisor. It's worth it0 -
@slappermum, thanks for the detailed respond, quite helpful. I will lookup for a mortgage advisor and have further chats on this.
Thanks a million0
