Wanting to delete my hotmail acccount. However i have lots of external account using this as a login.. Shopping accounts etc.
Once deleted can i still log on using this email and then change the email setting as and when.
Or will I suddenly struggle to access all accounts.
Thanks

In general, most websites (forums etc.) are NOT directly linked with your email account, so deleting the email account won't affect login on other websites.
However post #2 makes a very good point - make any login changes before you delete the Hotmail account.
Alternatively, we even delete it? Just stop using the Hotmail account.0 -
I'd recommend changing the email addresses on the accounts first.
If you delete the email account, go to try and sign into a website and the password is incorrect, you cannot easily reset it. Or if you try and sign in and the want you to re-verify by sending you a code over email.
I also don't see a reason to delete the account. You are not paying for it. you can also set up email forwarding if you just dont want to keep checking it anymore.0 -
Worth checking the have i been pawned website as well .0

Hotmail accounts expire after 270 days if you don't log in, so if you leave it long enough it will be deleted anyway.0

Deleting the e-mail account will not affect your ability to logon to 3rd party websites. It's just a username as far as they are concerned. Provided you remember the password. And the website/service doesn't require e-mail verification fro ma new device location etc.
It will remove your ability to reset the password or otherwise recover such accounts.
As above - change the e-mail on all such account and maybe even leave the undesired e-mail dormant for couple of months before deleting.
Deleting it solves nothing to be honest. The provider is likely to keep a copy of the data for their own use, even if you delete the account.0
