    I can't remember exactly: mine was a few years ago now, but I was on the 'young persons' list - because I was still working. Apparently then - don't know if it's still true now - people who weren't working get a lower priority, but I'd probably better not get started on that one ...

    DH again I can't remember, he had the test in Boots, saw the GP, got the referral. Wasn't noteworthy for the length of time it took.

    My post followed Savy Sue's and it should have been obvious to you. I was interested to learn how long she had to wait for the NHS hearing test vis a vis her private appointment.

    I am sure that we are all very grateful for your insightful comment informing us that NHS waiting times might vary across the country. See here
