I'm trying my hardest to plough as much as possible into paying it down. I can't wait to have this from hanging over my head constantly.Poppy1 -

Well I'm still hoping fir the end of the year but it might end up going into next year. If o didn't over pay I'd be out of debt by June 2022 because that's how many payments I have left on the loan but I'm trying to overpay. However I think it's going to slow down a bit, my DS has now left education and is going to uni in September. My money will drop because he's no longer in education but he isn't working and I need to support him financially with uni so I think that's going to slow my overpayments down a fair bit. It is what it is though, I'm thrilled he wants to go and of course want to help him as much as I can.Now that I'm ALMOST under 5k I don't feel as bad about the debt as I did understandably when it was over 30k 😱🤮
So I feel I can allow myself to relax the overpayments while I support my ds. I'd love to be debt free by the end of the year but family comes first.I'll pop on mid month and update my totals.Poppy19-02-18 Total Debt £30,322

Supporting DS is very important. Been there too. Also good to encourage him to get a job to pay his way / contribute as he will need more £ anywayAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hello 👋
Just popping on to update my totals for this month. My total debt is now £4,732 I'm getting there, i feel like although it's coming down it's coming down slower than I'd like due to things coming up that I need to spend money on and not over paying my loan as much as I'd like to be. However it's still going in the right direction and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, so I'm trying not to be too hard on myself. I feel as though there's nothing really I can do to bring in any extra cash either. The bank switch offers aren't available to me because I've been previously with those banks and I'm not sure what else there is that could help at the moment. I think it's just a case of carrying on trugging and keeping the momentum going.I'm still aiming for the end of the year but who knows if that will be a possibility.I need a windfall 😂 don't we all, just a couple of thousand nothing major would do 😂 LOL
