    Which would merely discount their statement as a partial witness. So we're back to him saying it was your fault, and you not knowing either way.
    I never saw the driver/ witness statements.
    It's irrelevant whether you did or not - you simply cannot contradict them, because you don't know what happened.

    Was the impact on the road or on the pavement? (You say you were "knocked over" but give no further relevant details ... were you a pedestrian? Were you crossing the road? At a defined crossing point? Were you a cyclist?)
