opening xlsx files

I cant seem to open xlsx files after my windows 10 clean install. I downloaded microsoft xlsx viewer free version but when i try to open files i just get a black screen!
Is there something else i need to install?

Not familiar with the xlsx viewer, but two ideas:

Are you sure you have your file associations right? Right click on the file and specifically select xlsx viewer from the list.

Otherwise, Excel online is free to use with a Microsoft account, and will enable you to edit the files as well as view them.

There are Excel files. Did you have Office on the computer before? If you reload it you should be able to open them all back up again.

Failing that something like OpenOffice or LibreOffice should get the bulk of the data. Some Excel only stuff may break but if you're just adding a bunch of numbers up it'll be okay.
