Economy 7 cut off?
Hello!
All our storage heaters stopped working on Friday - great timing eh? BRRRR.
I checked all the fuses and I checked the fuseboard - nothing seems awry. Then I looked at our meter - it's a smart meter (not that Symbio can take readings from it) and I can't find the night rate. If I press 6 it says 'Anytime' rate.
So I'm thinking Symbio has cut off my E7 somehow. I've rung them three times already and am feeling they are not understanding my query. They keep saying they will ring me back when they can get me someone to look at the meter.
Has anyone else had this happen?
Cheers me dears.

Are you sure there isn't a separate fuseboard for the storage heaters with its own trip ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

They are all in the same place. Think the E7 one is the ancient looking one. In any case, none of the three trips have tripped.0

Dear Miranda7,
You've used all your carbon allowance for this year, so your smart meter has cut your heating circuit off. But don't worry, your new allowance starts again in January.

Is there a master trip on the fuseboard or stand alone ?
Looks like a job for an electrician - not SymbioNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I'm guessing that the meter has reverted to single rate working and the auxiliary switching to E7 has been disabled. Its might be why Symbio dont want to take on smart meters, especilly of the previous supplier disables then when they get transferred.
When did the OP transfer to Symbio has it been fairly recently?. It's probably a Symbio problem now that they've taken on the customer to get the meter reprogrammed to E7 working again.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
I switched to Symbio in August and E7 was working till Friday. So not due to the switch.0

well keep phoning them and tell them you have no heating.
If these apply, tell them.
1) you have kids
2) you are over 65
3) you have a medical condition that means you require warmth0 -
Your Secure Liberty 100 meter is a dumb meter when you moved to Symbio so they have no control or contact with your meter
Have you tried looking for the night rate on button 9 as well as 6.?.
I remember Eon moving the Eco 7 button around last year.First from button 6 then to button 9 for dual rate0 -
Thanks all! Meter checker coming today. I'll update you all later.0
