With a CiFas could my sons wages be paid into my account??

Can't do that. At age 20, the son is an adult. Unless the Father has POA, officially his son's financial and work affairs are none of the Father's business.Writing to the employer and asking for the money to be paid into your account and under no circumstances to give the details to the son, would be interesting. Assuming he hasn't already got the details.0 -
How would you stop him from giving your sort code and account number to the same fraudsters he gave his details to before? Or to some other fraudsters? Thanks again all
I totally understand what you are saying
The wage into my account would be it and no other payments at all
As I said before, they might eventually have a look at CIFAS and act. Monzo is well known for blocking account access out of the blue. ANY outfit might look at CIFAS eventually. But we are speculating as we don't actually yet know what CIFAS says. It may be squeaky clean. Please come back when your son knows what's on his CIFAS.Long term thou and depending on the outcome of the CiFas what account could he open maybe a Monzo? Or Pockit?
Simply for his salary to be paid into0 -
Can you do this? I thought banks were tightening up the rules for AML reasons (I believe) so that for payments the name had to match the persons name as well? Or, has that been shelved / deferred? If he is stuck, there's no reason I can see why his wages could not be paid into your account. He simply needs to give his employer your sort code and account number.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

However, I don't believe it encompasses corporate payrolls using BACS and is aimed more towards consumers using Faster Payments....0 -
I thought that even that new functionality won't prevent you from chosing any old name for your recipient? won't banks just give you a warning if an account name doesn't match what you typed? After delays, Confirmation of Payee is now to be implemented by 31 March 2020:

In any case, though, son would just have to tell his employer the name on the account. It might even be the same as his own name......0 -
Yes, that's my understanding too, that's it's a warning rather than a preventive control as such.I thought that even that new functionality won't prevent you from chosing any old name for your recipient? won't banks just give you a warning if an account name doesn't match what you typed?
It seems to me that it's in the banks' interests to get this implemented as it'll allow them to reject claims relating to reimbursing APP scams, i.e. if the sender is trying to transfer funds to an account in the name of "Honest & Trustworthy Ltd" but is advised by the CoP check that the account is actually owned by "Dodgy Geezer", then even though the transfer isn't stopped, the sender can't claim that they weren't given an Effective Warning and so has to accept the consequences if they proceed....0 -

Depending on the type of CIFAS marker, if indeed there is one, even a basic bank account may be out of reach.BrownTrout wrote: »Just open a basic building society account job done0 -
