My son has been having trouble with this bank since January, over bank charges which today stand at 300.08 + 14.45 Interest + 30.00 for the letter they have sent today which say's

Formal Notice of intention to file a default and to take action to recover debt. (Court Action)

They are now calling this debt an overdraft.

In May we sent a letter for a refund on charges they offered a goodwill payment of 140.00, but by the time we received this letter 2 more months charges were added on.

This account has not been used since these charges were applied.

He has been writing to them and phoning but nobody seems to take any notice of him.

Any advice on what to do PLEASE

How old is your son? When or what were the reasons the charges were taken? What has he done so far with regards to them?

This problem has now been sorted out.

We contacted the Financial Ombudsman Service they were very interested in taking this on. (they totally ignored our letters and phone calls).

They are waiving all charges and closing the account.

It was all due to a direct debit being cancelled but the bank still honoured it which made the account overdrawn.
