Refund on card I have already paid off

I recently had to cancel a trip and have had the money I paid for the hotel refunded to my card. I paid this card off so now have a surplus c £1000 on it. I don't want to spend it, but I'm aware this balance impacts my credit agreement (sure I read this on here) will they automatically send this to me or do I need to call them to sort it out?

Give them a ring and they'll transfer it back to your current account. If it was a low balance you could just spend it - but a larger sum - they'll be happier if you take it back....
  • Thanks, if it wasn't much I'd just use spend it but I don't think even in the run up to Christmas I'd get through it so I will give them a call tomorrow!
  • called them this morning - money will be back in my account within 2 days. All good!
