Personal belongings insurance for expat

Hi,

I am an expat living outside the EU and was wondering if there is any insurance available to take out in the UK which would cover my personal items such as gadgets , watches, expensive clothing etc. So far, I have found that most insurance providers offer such an option bundled with home contents insurance and require permanent residence in the UK.

NB getting a similar insurance where I live is unfortunately not an option.:

Nope, generally you will need to source insurance in the country you are resident in.

Why getting insurance where you live is not an option? you are resident there

Have you tried a subsiduary of a UK insurer - if there is one locally - in the country where you live?

Thank you for your suggestions. I live in Ukraine where there are just no such insurance products available, even from the likes of Axa (local branches) etc..
