Afternoon,
Just purchased a Ford KA & need confirmation of what i suspect.
The KA is 2006 where the heater blows fine but cold inside the vehicle.
The 2 pipes that go to the heater in the engine compartment are both warm / hot. Then there is a piece of plastic which the valve is located in of which is a space below the wipers etc.The pipes on this side which also has an electrical plug are cold or should i say no where near the temp of the other side the valve.I also see a drip of water there.
Is it correct to assume that the valve is at fault
Thanks

If it is leaking it definitely needs replacing.
If you intend keeping the car, don't fit an £8 one off eBay, they last about 3 months and pour water out that drain hole, enough to cause issues with the cooling system.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

It's a common issue with Ka's, Fiesta's, Courier's and Puma's of that era, the valve you mentioned below the wipers is !!!!!!ed. It's the same part on all of them.
It's not a mechanical but an electrically operated stepped valve and they fail quite regularly.
If you Google "Fiesta Heater Valve", that should point you in the right direction, Youtube is full of videos helping you to replace one.
I've done a couple in the past and the plastic can be quite brittle, so if you're diying, take care.0 -
Yep absolutely common and not hard but a chore to replace. Could have been so much easier with a small redesign.
I know someone with a genuine brand new one sitting in the cupboard.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
