Minster Baywatch - First Letter received due to putting a 0 instead of a O into Ringgo

Hi Guys, received this a few days ago. As I say, I paid for the correct amount of time, but got one letter wrong in the Ringgo app when paying (new car).

Am I right in saying first step is to send blue "One size fits all" template for BPA members without specifics of my reasoning, and it's ok to send this directly through the Minster Baywatch website? I have the Ring Go confirmation which I could add and does not identify the driver.

Regards

I am puzzled, did you actually pay for parking? Did the payment go through? What are the PPC alleging?

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP after the election, as it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

Yes, I paid on the RingGo app. However, the car reg entered was wrong by one letter. The letter they have sent me was for the car with a O in reg (which is correct) and I have used a 0 (zero).

They are trying it on imo. I very much doubt if any judge in the land would find for them. Read this

Let them take you to court if they are foolish enough, they are very likely to crash and burn.

I agree, they should easily be able to see who is currently paid on the car park and put 2+2 together without getting 238.

Should I just send the appeal template then with the addition of why they're being ridiculous to get the ball rolling.

Just send the pro forma appeal as is, they will not be interested in your opinion, you are not dealing with John Lewis.

The appeal template in the NEWBIES covers both IPC and BPA members. It is not BPA specific unless you are looking at an old version of the NEWBIES.

Yes, send the template as is from the keeper, unaltered.

Edit your post to remove information about who paid or mistyped.

BPA has instructed its members over a year ago, not to pursue 'minor keying errors' - as per the POPLA Annual Report 2018.*

As well as submitting your appeal, which should include the above sentence, you should complain to the BPA about this. Use their complaints portal.
