The deposit was suppose to come from the money from our buyers. The house we are buying is a new build and we have just paid £500 at this time.0

On Monday you can find out how long this is likely to take.
If it's "a bit of a while" rather than "should be OK today or by tomorrow" and if you're in a hotel, then any claim for expenses you put in might get the comeback of "could've moved back into the empty house"... so balance probability/cost when choosing whether to return to your old house or not.0 -

So, you have not exchanged on your new house? That’s wonderful news, if correct. You keep the 10% deposit and your old house. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Hi we have exchanged in the sale or our old house and purchase of new house. Buyers have put down 5% deposit I believe on our house. We all exchanged with an agreement to complete on 29th november - been a bloody nightmare! We are temporarily in the new house as the developers have allowed us to stay til mid week next week and we have to have exchanged by then otherwise we have to leave. So we are in the new house and it's sad as we don't have a clue what is going to happen and may have to leave0

We were due to move into our new property Friday having exchanged the day before. Come 4pm no keys were handed over and we were eagarly outside our new property with all of our stuff packed in the van in our freezing cold car (it was a new build).Sorry meant to say we should complete by Wednesday not exchange as we exchanged last week
Your post both contradict each other, so which is it????
Have you actually exchanged, deposit money transferred ??"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

In terms of deposits for our new property we have only paid the £500 reservation fee and agreed to put down 40k deposit from the sale of our old property but as the sale didn't go through despite exchanging we are unable to do this.
The completion of the sale and purchase didn't happen as the buyers solicitor noticed an additional charge to the property which she didn't notify to the lender. She is accusing our solicitor of not informing her of this prior exchange but he has assured us he has and has got a 3rd party involved to check who said that our buyers solicitor is in the wrong and she is to send over the money to complete the process. Our solicitor sent her further documentation to prove that this happened and she is to send the money over hut he did not hear anything further and she was uncontactable by anyone leaving us in limbo.0 -
