Tumble dryer vent connection

Hi!
My first post here. Thanks in advance for any advice!
I’m at a loss. Can usually ‘google’ most things but struggling with this one 😫
Bought a vented tumble dryer, already have a vent in the wall so this was the cheaper and obvious option. Bush model with plastic vent tube and connector to attach to the machine but no way to attach it to the vent in the wall. Should have looked into this more prior to delivery!
I’ve searched for a connector but no joy. My guess is I will need to replace the wall vent, assume it’s quite old?! As long as the tube from dryer to vent will fit is it ok to use any kind/material? Some are plastic, some more paper type, do they all do the same job?
Confused. Most kits seem to be for the vent through the wall and not to attach to the actual dryer.
Please help!
Many thanks

In my kitchen there's no actual fitting on the inside of the wall, just a hole which I feed a good length of the hose through, can you not do this?

A picture of your wall vent may help, although you're not allowed yet to post full links just post a link without the https in front and we'll do the rest.

Same here - just stuff it well into the hole in the wall. :)

Is there a tube through the wall to the external vent grill ?
If so, you should be able to get connecting pieces that push in to this pipe for the hose to attach to.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

If the fixed wall pipe sticks out a bit, you could push the hose over it then get a clamp to fix it in position.

Alternatively you can get these fittings which screw ongo the end of the spiral hose, can be useful go tape them in place, then push into, or over the fixed duct pipe.

  • Thanks all for your replies. Took the front bit off and shoved the hose through the wall. Seems to be working fine!
