Concrete or wooden floor?

you intend to buy a flat and install hard flooringI want to entertain the idea of replacing the carpet with wooden floor so I want to know where I should move in terms of sound insulation.
shame on you if you are the upstairs flat, unless you intended to spend a fortune on sound proofing0 -
Just seen your follow-up post #8
Every lease of every flat I've owned says carpeting is obligatory. So look (or ask your lawyer to look) at the lease about your obligations
The lease does state that carpet is mandatory, but that a really really old lease. I spoke to the MA and they said, given proper design for sound insulation, I'm allowed to replace them.
However, having a chat with a friend, he said that if I've got concrete floor, there isn't even a question of sound insulation.0 -

So at what age do leases become invalid then?0 -
Heaven help your neighbours...
Perhaps you have never had to live under some selfish oaf who does not give a damn about the impact he or she has on the lives on those living directly under them. I wish you what you present to others, be that consideration or otherwise.0 -
The whole point is they are trying to find out if it is concrete. If it is, wood floorings would be fine.Heaven help your neighbours...
