    I don't know about that, there may be different types out there, but we had all our windows replaced a couple of years ago and I watched the fitters as they took the old sealed units out ahead of removing the frames.

    Perhaps not 'seconds', but it did not take them long at all.


    Incidentally, the price to replace all of the windows (but not doors) for our Semi-detatched was a bit over £2k. So 4k for just new units, while not necessarily a scam, definitely sounds like very poor value.
