Christmas sun for solo traveller

I've been looking online for a sun holiday over xmas on a budget but unsure where to go as a solo traveller. Somewhere relaxing and with a bit of life but not a party location.
Separate flights (from Ireland) and airbnb accommodation to Gran Canaria and Costa del Sol are around €100-€200 and €300-€500 respectively.
I'm not familiar with these places and haven't been away at Christmas before.
Would be grateful for any advice.

Just come back from a 7 day cruise around the Canaries, love all the islands. Weather was sunny and warm (mid-20's) and will most likely remain the same through the winter.0

You won't really get much sun on the Costa del Sol at this time of year, although it will be warmer than England. For proper sun you really need the Canaries, or Egypt, or somewhere further.0

The Canaries will not be cheap as it is one of the places that the older generation choose for long breaks to get away from the harsh weather and most of the good places are booked up a year or more in advance,so if you are looking to go on a budget you will be hard pressed0

I'm currently in Gran Canaria and it's 27 degrees and slightly windy. Looks like there is plenty of accommodation around as place is emptier than usual for this time of year. It gets busy though in school holidays.
Our problem tends to be flights as they fill quickly, I've never gone last minute but our flight out from Gatwick on Wednesday was completely full.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've been to Gran Canaria and Tenerife in the winter. Both weren't too expensive for flights or hotels. I went to these places by myself as well.
Both places were fine, but I preferred Tenerife - probably because I rented a car and went to different places. Gran Canaria was a bit warmer, but weather can vary, they were both still warm!
I'll definitely head to the Canaries again for winter sun, either that or Florida if you're looking for somewhere more long haul! (not the parks though, some of the other towns around are quite cheap)0 -

Went to Florida for Christmas/New Year a few years ago - first two days were scorching hot but the rest of the trip it was really cold - in fact, the temperature was warmer in England!
Also, flights cost an absolute fortune over Christmas (school holidays
) and OP states ‘on a budget’ Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -

Over Christmas nothing is cheap! I went to look for flights over this Christmas and to Gran Canaria prices were crazy (£500). In early December I went for £75 a couple years back for a long weekend.
Weather's never something to rely on. My friend went to Vegas last week, and she couldn't get to the Grand Canyon because of snow!!0 -

That’s normal for the GC over the winter, due to the elevation (approaching 7000ft at the South Rim, 8000 at the North Rim).
We went one Easter and were lucky to have a couple of bright sunny days but there was snow on the ground and later the day we left the weather closed in and they were snowed in for several days.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
